Mary Jane Crabtree Roddy, age 82, Indianapolis, IN died Friday, January 19, 2018 at Franciscan Health.

Funeral services will be Saturday, January 27, 2018 at 1pmCT, at McMurtrey Funeral Home, 2232 Summer Shade Road, Summer Shade, KY. Burial will follow in Old Mt Herman Cemetery. Visitation will be 10am-1pmCT, Saturday, January 27, at the funeral home.



Mary Jane Roddy, Summer Shade, KY (1935-2018)


Born November 7, 1935 in Harlan, Harlan County, KY, she was a daughter of the late Earl & Hazel Hatfield Crabtree. She died Friday, January 19, 2018, at the age of 82 years, two months, and 12 days.

She was a homemaker and of the Church of Christ faith.

Survivors include:
  • One daughter: Phyllis (Bill) Goss, Danville, IN

  • Two sons: Robert Taylor Roddy Jr, Indianapolis, IN; and Hurstel Godsey (Vanessa), Greenwood, IN

  • One sister: Ann Arnett, Greenwood, IN

  • Three brothers: Ronald Crabtree, Indianapolis, IN; Dillard Crabtree, Indianapolis, IN; and Junior Crabtree, Somerset, KY

  • Several grandchildren

  • Several great grandchildren
She was preceded in death, in addition to her parents, by her husband William Taylor Roddy, .
