Billy Joe Fudge: Why are there two U.S. 31's between L & N? To a traveler who loves both roads, it is strange By Billy Joe Fudge A question. I have a question and no I don't have the answer. Why are there two Highway 31's from Nashville to Louisville and what is the history of their strange existence? Or at least, I think it is strange. Reason being, I don't know of any other similar scenario. I love both roads and a day trip on each is a thrill which will take you back to a time and place for which you've been longing.
