Lilburn (Dwight) Wilcher, Casey County, KY (1938-2017)

He attended Liberty First Church of God. He enjoyed music and loved singing in his gospel group, "The Gospel Harmony." He was a native of Casey County, KY, and a resident of the county at the time of his death. His wife, Faye Wheeler Wilcher, survives. He leaves 11 direct and two step living descendants.

Lilburn (Dwight) Wilcher, of Liberty, KY, passed away on Thursday, June 22, 2017, in Lexington, KY.

The funeral service will be held at 1pmCT/2pmET, on Sunday, June 25, 2017, at McKinney-Brown Funeral Home, 752 Campbellsville Street, Liberty, KY, with Bro. Gary Allen officiating. Burial will follow in Whited Cemetery. The family of Mr. Wilcher will receive friends 4pm-7pmCT/5pm-8pmET, on Saturday, June 24, 2017, and from 10am-1pmCT/11am-2pmET, on Sunday, June 25, 2017, at McKinney-Brown Funeral Home.



Lilburn (Dwight) Wilcher, Casey County, KY (1938-2017)


Born on May 24, 1938, in Liberty, Casey County, KY, he was a son of the late Dennis Wilcher & Patsy Lay Atwood. He died Thursday June 22, 2017, in Lexington, Fayette County, KY, at the age of 79 years, 29 days.

Dwight attended Liberty First Church of God. He enjoyed music and loved singing in his gospel group, "The Gospel Harmony."

He is survived by his loving wife, Faye Wheeler Wilcher, and the following:
  • Three daughters: Sonja (and Scott) Kessler, Michelle (and Don) Back and Renee Wilcher, all of Cincinnati, Ohio

  • A son: Greg Wilcher of Cincinnati, Ohio

  • Two step-daughters: Rita (and Mike) Poynter of Louisville, KY; and Diane Terry of Liberty, KY

  • A sister: Mary Lou Allen of Jeffersonville, IN

  • Seven grandchildren: Austin, Olivia, Chelsea, Madison, Michaela, Amber and Anthony
In addition to his parents, Dwight is predeceased by a sister, Dean Helton; and three brothers, Leonard Wilcher, Gene Wilcher and Junior Wilcher.
