David E. Tungate, Taylor Co., KY (1938-2017)

He professed faith in Christ and was a member of 3trees Church. He was very dedicated and active in the development of Living Grace Church which is now known as 3trees Church Campbellsville Campus. David enjoyed fishing and hunting but most of all, having a cup of Marathon coffee. He was a retired mechanic with Fruit of The Loom in Campbellsville. He was a native of Marion County, the son of the late Eugene Tungate and Pauline Gribbins Tungate. His wife of over 53 years, Joyce Bennett Tungate, survives. He leaves three direct living descendants and many close kin in Taylor, Marion, and Adair Counties and elsewhere.

David E. Tungate, 78, of Campbellsville, KY, died at 2:50pmET, Saturday, January 7, 2017 in Campbellsville, KY.

Funeral service will be at 10amCT/11amET, Tuesday, January 10, 2017, at 3trees Church, 1 Living Grace Church Drive, Campbellsville, KY by Pastor Jason Hood with burial in Palestine Baptist Church Cemetery. Visitation is 4pm-7pmCT/5pm-8pmET, Monday, January 9, 2017, at Parrott & Ramsey Funeral Home, 418 Lebanon Avenue, Campbellsville, KY, and and after 8amCT/9amET, Tuesday at the 3trees Church.



David E. Tungate, Taylor Co., KY (1938-2017)

David E. Tungate was the son of the late Eugene Tungate and Pauline Gribbins Tungate. He was born June 28, 1938, in Marion County, KY. He died Saturday, January 7, 2017 in Campbellsville, Taylor County, KY, at the age of 78 years, six months, and 10 days.

He professed faith in Christ and was a member of 3trees Church. He was very dedicated and active in the development of Living Grace Church which is now known as 3trees Church Campbellsville Campus. David enjoyed fishing and hunting but most of all, having a cup of Marathon coffee. He was a retired mechanic with Fruit of The Loom in Campbellsville.

David united in marriage to Joyce Bennett July 3, 1963.

Besides his wife, Joyce Tungate, he is survived by:
  • One son and one daughter: Greg Tungate and wife, Lora and Donnetta Tungate of Campbellsville, KY

  • One grandson, Alex Tungate of Campbellsville, KY

  • Two sisters: Polly Jean Graybeal and husband, Track of Louisville, KY; and Jetty Sue Noel and husband, Henry of Columbia, KY

  • One brother-in-law: Walter Forrest of Elkhorn, KY

  • A special nephew: Jordan Bennett of Campbellsville, KY

  • Several nieces and nephews

  • And many other relatives and friends
David was also preceded in death by one granddaughter, Emily Ashton Tungate October 31, 2004 and one sister, Elizabeth Forrest March 6, 2016.
