Memory Ervin, 96, Metcalfe County, KY (1920-2016)

He was the patriarch of a large, respected North Metcalfe County family. He was the son of the late Wood and Lovie Jeffries Ervin, and the widower of Emily Martin Ervin. He leaves 15 direct living descendants. He was a farmer and of the Baptist faith.

Memory Ervin age 96 of Edmonton, KY, passed away Wednesday, November 23, 2016 at T.J. Samson Community Hospital in Glasgow, KY.

Funeral services will be held 1pmCT, Saturday, November 26, 2016, at the Butler Funeral Home, 201 East Street, Edmonton, KY, with burial in the Metcalfe County Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be from 4pmCT until 8pmCT Friday, November 25, 2016, and after 9amCT, Saturday at the funeral home.

He was the son of the late Wood and Lovie Jeffries Ervin. He was born September 14, 1920, and died Wednesday, November 23, 2016, in Glasgow, Barren County, KY, at the age of 96 years, two months, and nine days. He was a farmer and of the Baptist faith.

He is survived by:
  • One daughter: Phyllis Moss and husband Eugene of Edmonton, KY

  • Four grandchildren: Kelly (Missy) and Douglas (Ches) Moss of Edmonton, KY; Susie (Kendall) Clark of Sulphur Well, KY; and Betty (Ralph) Bernard of Bowling Green, KY

  • One brother Roy (Jan) Ervin of Edmonton, KY

  • Eight great grandchildren

  • Two great great grandchildren

  • And several nieces and nephews
Besides his parents he was preceded in death by his wife Emily Martin Ervin, one son Loren Ervin, one great grandson Joseph, one brother Mitchell Ervin, and three sisters, Audrey Perkins, Helen Chaney, and Catherine Edwards.
