Fiscal Court 11 Oct 2016: Links to all reports By Ed Waggener Adair County Roads Foreman Terry Corbin reported to Fiscal Court that the department is finishing mowing county rights of way, that fall grading is underway, and that winter salt has arrived. Foreman Corbin said that the county's new dump truck would arrive on Wednesday, October 12, 2016. His report was approved 7-0 on a motion by Magistrate Harold Burton (District 1) and a second by Greg Caldwell (6), with Magistrates Sammy Baker (3), Perry Reeder (4), Billy Dean Coffey (5), Terry Hadley (7), and CJE Mike Stephens affirming. Magistrate Daryl Flatt (2) was absent. Speed limit in curves on Richards Hollow Road The court voted unanimously to approve a second reading of a county ordinance reducing the speed in curves only to 15 mph on CR#1320, Richards Hollow Road, in Magistrate Perry Reeder's 4th District. Court approves engineering contract for Barnett's Creek Bridge The court unanimously approved CJE Mike Stephens' recommendation to hire Greg Eastham as the engineer for the Barnett's Creek Bridge project, on a motion by Magistrate Harold Burton (District 1), a second by Billy Dean Coffey (5), with Magistrates Sammy Baker (3), Perry Reeder (4), Greg Caldwell (6) and CJE Mike Stephens affirming. The court authorized, in a separate measure, Judge Stephens signing of necessary paperwork. Court approves payment for Lory Road emergency repairs The court unanimously approved paying for repairs on Lory Road, off the Edmonton Road at the top of Nell Hill in Magisterial District 4 in order to receive money FEMA has authorized for emergency repairs. The action came on a motion by Magistrate Sammy Baker (District 3) with a second by Greg Caldwell (6) with the other magistrates present and CJE Stephens affirming. Judge Stephens explained that FEMA will re-imburse following construction completion. The repairs include repaving the steep hill on Lory Road, with chip and seal for other repairs.
