CMS to host basketball game, 5K run/walk fundraisers

Events planned to raise money to provide Leader in Me program for Campbellsville Middle School students

A group of former University of Kentucky Wildcat basketball players will invade Campbellsville this fall, all to raise money for a great cause. Campbellsville Middle School will host several fundraisers in coming weeks to raise money to implement the Leader in Me program for its students.

Events will begin with the 5K race on Saturday, August 13, 2016, at 7:30AmCT/8:30amET at Campbellsville Elementary School, 315 Roberts Road (Campus),Campbellsville, KY. Pre-registration is available for $25. Registration at the event will be $30, from 6am-7amCT/7am-8amET. There will be categories for participants of all ages, and prizes for the top runners in each.



CMS will host a barbecue dinner and silent auction at 4pmCT/5pmET, that afternoon, at Campbellsville High School, 230 W Main Street. A basketball game will begin at 5:30pmCT, 6:30pmET, named "The Untouchables Invade Central Kentucky," at the CHS gymnasium. The game will be between Taylor, Marion, Green and Adair county community leaders and players from the University of Kentucky championship teams from 1996 and 1998.

Names of specific players participating will be announced at a later date. Pre-sale tickets to the dinner and game will be sold for $10. Tickets at the door are $15. Children ages 5 and younger will be admitted free. Concessions will be sold at the game.

CMS officials are looking for those interested in playing in the game or coaching the teams.
