Marsha Walker: Felt honored to work at Brown Drug Comments re photo 67041 Junior Stotts' Favorite Old Photo Do you have memories of this scene, an old photo of the interior of Brown Drug store, 204 Public Square, Columbia, KY By Marsha Walker I remember working here at the fountain counter as a senior in high school. John D. Lowe was the owner then. Annie Roonie Cole made the best barbeque sandwiches, cole slaw and potato salad. Shakes and malts were popular. At one time there were booths in the rear, and high school and college students gathered there after school. My pay was less than a dollar an hour, but I enjoyed the work. A Mrs. Kelsay and a Mrs. Davis worked on rhe other side of the store. I remember the college age pretty girls and handsome boys Ramona mentioned. I felt honored to work there. --Marsha Walker This story was posted on 2016-06-11 02:45:17
