Wildflowers of KY: Chamomile in Mt. Carmel area

The plant is in the same family as common daisies. Other names for it are, according to the entry in Wikipedia, Matricaria_discoidea are Pineapple Weed, Wild Chamomile, and Disc Mayweed.

I have lived here since 1990, and this wild flower in the accompanying photos fills my driveway every year. lt smells wonderful, I have dried it and made tea. Mrs. Mary Pike must have planted this variety years ago . Most people probably don't know this amazing flower (plant). Have a wonderful day. - Larry Clark

Wildflowers of Kentucky: Chamomile up close - rayless daisy

Up close, one can see both the kinship with the ordinary daisy and the reason it is sometimes called, the "Rayless Daisy" and "Pineapple Weed." Larry Clark believes Mrs. Mary Pike must have planted this variety, years ago. It has a delightful smell he says, and can be dried and used to make tea.
