Review: Fly Me to the Moon offered amazing performances The Adair County High School and Lindsey Wilson College jazz bands brought crowd to feet - as one - when they joined forces to to play "Fly Me to The Moon" and "In The Mood" - GK Click on headline for complete review By George Kolbenschlag The jazz concert in the Columbia/Adair County airport hangar Friday night was, as expected, amazing. As in years past the talent of both the Adair County High School and Lindsey Wilson College jazz bands was beyond my expectations, which were rather high going in. These kids are really good, and their music knows how to speak to my ears, my soul and my feet. If you missed it, I recommend you plan on being there next year. (The food is good too-all kinds of finger foods including little pulled pork sandwiches and a variety of home made nibblies.) The finale, when the two bands joined forces to play "Fly Me to The Moon" and "In The Mood," brought the crowd as one to their feet. It was, as it always has been in the three years I've attended, a great community event and the audience was a great mix of folks. One of the things I like is people feel free to get up and pick up some food or visit with a friend while the beat goes on. But they also respect others and are not disruptive. It's a very comfortable homey environment. You can check it out on the Facebook page at "Fly Me to The Moon Hillary Hadley." - George Kolbenschlag This story was posted on 2016-04-30 05:45:33
