Della Davidson, 81, Burkesville, KY (1934-2016)

She was a native of Metcalfe County, KY, and a resident of Cumberland County at the time of her death. She was a loving mother, homemaker, and a member of Denney Hollow Jesus Name Church. She was the daughter of the late James Walter and Janie Elizabeth Garmon Pennington, and the widow of Edgar "Bud" Davidson. She leaves six direct living descendants, including one son in Columbia, KY, and three daughters and two grandchildren in Burkesville, KY.

Della Davidson age 81 of Burkesville, Kentucky passed away on Tuesday, January 05, 2016 at Cumberland County Hospital, Burkesville.

Funeral service will be Thursday, January 07, 2016 at 1pmCT, at Ballou & Stotts Funeral Home, 304 N. Main Street, Burkesville, KY with burial in Jones Cemetery Family requests visitation on Wednesday, January 06, 2016 from 4pmCT until 9pmCT, at Ballou & Stotts Funeral Home.



Della Davidson, 81, Burkesville, KY (1934-2016)


Della was born on November 27, 1934 in Metcalfe County, KY to the late James Walter and Janie Elizabeth Garmon Pennington. She died Tuesday, January 5, 2016 in Burkesville, Cumberland County, KY, at the age of 81 years, one month and nine days.

She was a loving mother, homemaker, and a member of Denney Hollow Jesus Name Church.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Edgar "Bud" Davidson; nine brothers, Leon Pennington, Radford Pennington, Lester Pennington, Paul Pennington, Thomas Pennington, Clyde Pennington, Perry Pennington, Elbert Pennington, and Willis Pennington; and four sisters, Vinnie Bunch, Stella Stiltz, Pearlie Pennington, and Mary Pennington. Survivors include:
  • One son: James Davidson and his wife Tamara of Columbia, KY

  • Three daughters: Peggy McClister and her husband Jackie; Janie Cary and her husband Jeff; and Katherine Davidson all of Burkesville, KY

  • One granddaughter: JaTeah Cary

  • One great granddaughter: Shelby Cary

  • and a host of other relatives and friends
