No. 22 LW Volleyball sweeps Cumberland 3-0, Sep 16, 2014 Blue Raider Volleyball hosts Georgetown (Georgetown, KY) at 6pmCT, Friday September, 19, 2014, at Biggers Sports Center, 360 Spickard Drive, Columbia, KY, 42728 By Tyler Scott News from Lindsey Wilson College LEBANON, TN - The No. 22-ranked Lindsey Wilson volleyball team extended its winning streak to nine straight Tuesday night, September 16, 2014. with a 3-0 win over host Cumberland (TN) at the Dallas Floyd Recreation Center. The Blue Raiders (13-2, 2-0 MSC) swept Cumberland (11-5, 1-1 MSC) 25-18, 25-16, 25-15. The opening set saw the Blue Raiders fall behind to the Bulldogs by as many three, including holding a 17-14 lead. But a Catie Cline kill sparked an 11-1 run as Lindsey Wilson closed out the set 25-18. Set two saw the Blue Raiders jump out to a 9-3 lead, but the Bulldogs were able to trim the gap to two at the 12-10 mark. Lindsey Wilson would use another impressive 13-6 run to close out the set 25-16. In the final set, Lindsey Wilson took control early and never looked back, building as much as a 12-point lead at 22-10. A Sophia Riviere kill would seal the set and the match 25-15. Yennifer Ramirez led the Blue Raider offensive attack finishing the match with a .364 attacking percentage and 12 kills. Makenzie Montano led the team in assists with 16 while Sarah Shilling and Daryna Liutikova each added five kills. Shilling also had a .571 hitting percentage. Caitlyn Tino finished with seven digs on the night. The Blue Raiders finished with a team attacking percentage of .324 while also recording eight blocks. Rylee Butler led the Bulldogs with seven kills, while Michelle Evans and Amanda Worrell tallied four. Ashton Perez led the Bulldogs with 15 assists. Lindsey Wilson limited Cumberland to a team attacking percentage of -.013. The Blue Raiders have now won nine-consecutive matches dating back to Aug. 29.
