CU's Myra Rose is NAIA high jump All-American Campbellsville University's CU four NAIA All-America finishes this week is a program best By Chris Megginson / Campbellsville Sports Information MARION, IN - Myra Rose finished as an All-American in the women's high jump Saturday to cap a four All-American performance by Campbellsville University at the 33rd annual NAIA Women's Outdoor Track & Field Championships. Rose (PRP, Louisville, KY) finished in a five-way tie for eighth place at 1.63 meters, clearing the mark in her second attempt. She gained .20 of a team point for the Lady Tigers, giving Campbellsville 15.20 points for the week. Following the high jump, Campbellsville sat at 17th among 55 teams in the team standings. Freshman jumper Keisha Chiles (Southern HS, Louisville, KY) set the pace for CU's student-athletes Thursday with an All-America seventh-place finish and personal record in the long jump, while senior Tiosha Beasley (Bowling Green HS, Bowling Green, KY) finished 10th. The duo both were named All-Americans Friday after finishing second and fourth, respectively, in the triple jump. Chiles was .01 meters (one half of an inch) short of the national championship. Freshman hurdler Christiana Harris (Scott County HS, Georgetown, KY) also qualified for the NAIA meet, competing in the 100-meter hurdles Friday. We had a great weekend with four All-American spots. It was a great finish to a wonderful overall season, said interim head coach Hilary Cebulko Lakes. "These girls have worked hard to be at nationals, and they did great! I'm proud of all of them!" The NAIA meet concludes the 2013 outdoor track and field season, which was a historic year for CU. The Lady Tigers made history in April, winning the program's first Mid-South Conference championship, with Chiles being named the Athlete and Freshman of the Year. CU also made history at the National Christian College Athletic Association (NCCAA) meet with Tiosha Beasley becoming the first three-time national champion in any sport at CU. She finished her career as an eight-time All-American, combined in indoor and outdoor seasons in NCCAA and NAIA long jump and triple jump.
