LWC Women's Golf misses cut at NAIA National Championships Blue Raiders wrap up play at nationals with 989 (316-327-346) total strokes, while Kaitlin Allan is their top individual, shooting a 240 (78-77-85) to finish the day in a tie for 46th place By Dan White News from Lindsey Wilson College LINCOLN, NE - Lindsey Wilson just missed the 17-team cut for the final round at the NAIA Women's Golf National Championships after shooting a third-round 346 on Thursday to drop to 19th place at Wilderness Ridge Golf Club, 1800 Wilderness Woods Place, Lincoln, NE. The Blue Raiders wrap up play at nationals with 989 (316-327-346) total strokes, while Kaitlin Allan is their top individual, shooting a 240 (78-77-85) to finish the day in a tie for 46th place. Only the top 17 schools on the team leaderboard and top 40 individuals advance to play on Friday. Lindsey Wilson opened the week much differently with a solid 316 for the opening round, but added 30 strokes to that score on Thursday to play itself out of the tournament. Allan played the front nine holes well on Thursday, finishing just one-over par with the help of a birdie on No. 4, but her back-nine performance didn't match up. Allan made just one par on the backside to finish the round with a 13-over 85. Kelsey Joslyn had the best score of the day for the Blue Raiders with an 84, bringing her three-day total to 248 (81-83-84). A birdie on 17 was her best hole of the day while also making par on eight holes. Oklahoma City is the team to beat, entering Friday with 920 total strokes, ten better than second place British Columbia at 930. Individually, Jessica Schiele of Oklahoma City is the clubhouse leader with a total score of 217 (75-68-74). - Dan White This story was posted on 2013-05-24 05:13:54
