KY 55 in Adair Co. to be reduced to 1 lane, starting Mar. 18, 2013 Glens Fork Creek Bridge Project: Temporary speed limit reduction to be set By Amber Hale SOMERSET, KY (March 11, 2013) - Beginning Monday, March 18, KY 55 in Adair County will be reduced to one lane at mile point 6.333 as crews begin construction for bridge widening project. This project is located approximately 3 miles north of the Glens Forks community and just north of Gaddie-Shamrock quarry. Temporary traffic signals will be in place on north and south approaches for the lane closure. The current 55 MPH speed limit will be reduced to 35 MPH through the work zone beginning at mile point 6.1 and ending at mile point 6.6. In addition, lane width will be restricted to 8.5 feet. Work is scheduled to be completed May 15. The starting date and duration of work may be adjusted for inclement weather or other unforeseeable delays. Drivers should expect delays and are encouraged to allow extra time in reaching their destination. The Prime Contractor that will be performing the work on this project is Kay & Kay Contracting LLC from London, KY.
