Commissioner Holliday appoints Greg L. Willis to school board

With Mr. Willis in Division 1, board has all five seats filled. Other members are Quin Lasley, Division 2; Joseph Payne, Division 3; Floyd Burton, Division 4; and Mike Harris, Division 5

Please be advised that late yesterday afternoon I was notified by letter that Commissioner of Education, Dr. Terry Holliday, has appointed Mr. Greg L. Willis to fill the unexpired term of Ms. Rebecca Turner for school board member, Division 1, Adair County School District.

The appointment is effective immediately after Mr. Willis is sworn in and will run through 2014. Willis has served two previous terms on the school board from January 2003 until December, 2010.

In making the appointment, the Commissioner cited his authority under KRS 160.190(I).

Greg Willis, appointed yesterday, January 8, 2013, by Kentucky Commissioner of Education Dr. Terry Holliday to fill the Division 1 vacancy on the Adair County School Board rejoins the board after a two year hiatus. In the right photo he is shown with a a just presented Kentucky School Board Training certificate for KSBA Level 3 training. At the time, he had almost completed Levels 4 & 5, the same certificates being presented at the Thursday, April 16 2009, school board meeting to Mike Harris, left in left photo, by then Superintendent Darrell Treece. Mr. Willis joins Chairman Floyd Burton (Division 4), Quin Lasley (Division 2), Joseph Payne (Division 3) and Mike Harris, (Division 5) for the board's regular Thursday, January 17, 2013, meeting.
