Two airlifted to UK following 1-car accident in Russell Co., KY

Driver loses control of KIA Sportage which leaves KY 55 roadway 9 miles south of Russell Springs, strikes culvert, and overturned several times

RUSSELL SPRINGS, KY - Tpr. Mike Woodrum is investigating a collision that occurred Friday morning, November 23, 2012, at 8:50amCT, 9 miles south of Russell Springs on KY 55.

29-year-old Jessica Day, of Russell Springs, KY was traveling north on KY 55 when she lost control of her 2001 KIA Sportage.



The vehicle left the roadway and struck a culvert causing the vehicle to overturn several times.

Day and a passenger, 34-year-old Heather Stephens, of Russell Springs, KY were not wearing their seatbelts and were flown to U.K. Medical Center in Lexington, KY, for treatment of injuries. - TFC Billy Gregory
