Body found in pond across from Larue County Schools Click on headline for full stort with photo MTPR Norman Chaffins, Public Information Officer Kentucky State Police, Post 4, Elizabethtown, KY (HODGENVILLE, KY) - On Thursday, September 27, 2012 at approximately 9amET Post 4 received a call from the Larue County Sheriff's Office advising that they had discovered a body in a pond across from the Larue County Middle School just off S. Lincoln Blvd. in Hodgenville. Post 4 confirmed that the body was a white male subject that was floating in the pond. The body was removed by the Larue County Coroner's Office and sent to the Medical Examiner's Office in Louisville. An autopsy will be performed in an attempt to determine a cause of death. This is an ongoing investigation and it will be updated once the medical examiner releases their preliminary report. We were able to cross reference this death with a recent missing persons case which led to the identification of the body. The body has been identified by family members as 43-year-old James Everett Martin of Hodgenville. He was reported missing by a family member on Saturday, September 22, 2012. Tpr. Chris Berry is working the missing persons case and Detective Ryan Johnson is working the death investigation. This story was posted on 2012-09-27 12:44:40
