Campbellsville Police resolved armed standoff, Sunday Armed woman refuses, at first, to comply with officers request to exit residence. Police able to remove male from residence; woman contacts 911 after 1:43 minutes that she is suffering from self-inflicted gunshot wound, after which police gain entry without incident. Woman, identified as Marlene Bell, transported to Taylor Regional Hospital. No charges filed at time of report. From Campbellville Police Department The Campbellsville Police Department responded to 706 Cumberland Way, Campbellsville, KY, on Sunday August 12, 2012 at 4:19ET/3:19CT, to a report of a female subject at that residence armed with a handgun. When officers arrived at the residence they discovered Marlene Bell was armed and refused to comply with directives from officers to surrender her weapon and exit the residence. Officers were able to safely remove male subject from the residence. Bell continued standoff inside residence with police. At 6:02amCT, Bell contacted 911 reporting that she was suffering from a self inflicted gunshot wound. Officers gained entry to residence without incident. Bell was transported to Taylor Regional Hospital by CTEMS for treatment for non life threatening injuries. No charges have been filed at time of report. Investigation is ongoing by the Campbellsville Police Department. Units on the scene include Campbellsville Police Department, Campbellsville/Taylor County EMS, and Campbellsville/Taylor County Fire Department. Capt. Pat Thompson was the investigating officer.
