George Bailey and the Howard Theater of Crab Orchard, KY Comments re article 53031 Howard Theater Crab Orchard KY has storied past By George Bailey Jr My father started the theater in Crab Orchard after The War. My father did show movies all around in several counties after he sold out. He knew TV was a new media so he really got out early. Maybe too early. He had movie shows in Bandy, Bee Lick , Buck Creek and as far away as Yosemite. This was a good parttime business. This venture was over in the late 50's and he started selling TVs for a living. He passed away in 2005. He raised six girls and one son. He was a man of his word and loved to meet people. --George Bailey Jr This story was posted on 2012-08-03 17:15:15
