Elvia Bailey Stinson, 76 of Chicago, Illinois, formerly of Adair County, KY, passed away Wednesday, June 20, 2012 at her home after an illness.

A graveside service will be held Sunday, June 24, 2012 at 1pmCT at the Haven Hill Cemetery, 1276 Liberty Road, Columbia, KY, withRev. Herbert Janes the officiating clergy. Interment in the Haven Hill Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 12pm noon CT, on Sunday at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home, 210 Greensburg Street, Columbia, KY.



Elvia Bailey Stinson, Adair Co., KY (1936-2012)

She was born Thursday, June 3, 1936, in Columbia, Adiar County, KY, the daughter of the late Granville and Estelle Young Bailey. She died Wednesday, June 20, 2012, in Chicago, Cook County,IL, at the age of 76 years, 17 days.

Preceded in death by her husband, Norman Arthur Stinson on October 24, 1987 and by a brother, Sanford Bailey on March 17, 2010.She is survived by the following:
  • Two daughters: Linda Bragg and husband Frank of Burbank, IL; Theresa Stinson of Chicago, IL

  • One brother: Bradford Bailey of Columbia, KY

  • Two sisters: Doris Burton of Columbia, KY; and Kathreen Branham of Columbia, KY>

  • Four grandchildren: Gail Bragg, Brian Phillips, Al Phillips, James Phillips

  • Four great grandchildren: Alexis Phillips, Anthony Phillips, Kyle Phillips, Alex Phillips
