News from Kentucky Transportation Cabinet

ELIZABETHTOWN, KY- (May 13, 2012 - 5:54pmCT - Northbound Interstate 65 at Mile Point 56, just north of Cave City, remains closed due to this morning's multi-vehicle crash. The crash also has created significant traffic congestion along US 31W and US 31E between Park City and Elizabethtown.

In efforts to reduce the risk of secondary crashes, motorists (both detour traffic and local traffic) should use extreme caution when approaching intersections along the US 31W and US 31E routes. Kentucky Transportation Cabinet Crews and local agencies are monitoring and/or directing traffic at some of the more heavily traveled intersections (KY 70, KY 218, KY 1357, KY 88).

The interstate will remain closed for at least two additional hours as cleanup continues. - Chris Jessie
