Brandi Sullivan, fiance RJ Blackburn receive M.D. degrees at UL Both receive special recognition at Honors Convocation at Galt House. A June wedding is planned. Dr. Sullivan and Dr. Blackburn will enter three year residencies at the prestigious Tinsley Harrison Internal Medicine Program in Birmingham, AL Click on headline for full story w/photo(s) By Brenda Mann Brandi Sullivan and fiance' RJ Blackburn received Doctor of Medicine Degrees from the University of Louisville School of Medicine during the graduation ceremony held on Saturday, May 12, 2012. On Friday evening both graduates were honored for their achievements at the U of L School Of Medicine Senior Honors Convocation held at the Galt House. Brandi received the Leonard Tow Humanism in Medicine Award and was inducted as a member of Who's Who Among Students in American Universities and Colleges. She was also acknowledged as class volunteer coordinator and a member of the Gold Humanism Honor Society. RJ Blackburn graduated second in the U of L School of Medicine class of 2012. He was recognized as a Summa Cum Laude graduate, Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society Member, Gold Humanism Honor Society Member, Phi Kappa Phi Honor Society Member, Who's Who Among Students in American Universities and Colleges and received the George P. Caldwell Award. RJ also served as the class technology representative. Brandi is the daughter of Gary and Brenda Mann and Bobby and Lee Ann Sullivan. She is the granddaughter of Millard Kinnett and the late Maxine Kinnett and Alvis and the late Dorothy Sullivan. RJ Blackburn is the son of Reaford and Ellen Blackburn of Pikeville, KY. After a June wedding, they will both begin a three year residency at the prestigious Tinsley Harrison Internal Medicine Program in Birmingham, Alabama. RJ plans to pursue a fellowship in Infectious Disease and Brandi in Pulmonary/Critical Care.
