Thanks to AL Sinclair for the trash pickup Mr. Sinclair and his crew did their part to keep this face of Columbia - maybe the one seen by the most visitors to Adair County - clean and free of litter By Victoria Pike Guest Editorial Thanks from the community go out to Mr. A.L. Sinclair and his crew for cleaning up the road sides yesterday on Burkesville Road near the interchange. Several bags were collected and hauled away. Now that it is clean, let's keep it that way. People, please keep your trash in your vehicle and dispose of it properly when you get home. Also, to those hauling metal to recycle, take the nails out that are loose. Last week I had two metal screws in one tire one day. Another day I had a 4 inch gash in a cattle trailer tire when I made a trip from the house to the transfer station. Thank goodness I made it in the driveway and didn't have to be sitting on the side of the road changing a tire. I am all for recycling and cleaning up Adair County, but please make sure what you are hauling is secured inside your truck bed or smaller objects are in a bag where they don't fall out on the way to the recycler. This section of Adair County may be the only part that most folks getting off the parkway ever see. Let's keep it looking beautiful so they can tell others of the beautiful little community they stopped by in Adair County Kentucky. --Victoria Pike This story was posted on 2012-02-18 10:24:33
