Nine year old injured in Metcalfe County two-car collision

Collision occurs at H. Garrett Road and Subtle Road

EDMONTON, KY - Trooper Daniel Stephens is investigating an injury collision which occurred at 7:30pmCT, Sunday, January 1, 2012, 2 miles South of Edmonton on Subtle Road.



A 2002 Nissan Maxima operated by Nile Smith, age 65 of Dubre, KY, was traveling Westbound on H Garrett Road at the junction of Subtle Road when he pulled into the path of a 2008 Ford Crown Victoria operated by Josh Neal, age 24 of Edmonton, KY.

Neal's vehicle was traveling Westbound on Subtle Road. A passenger in the Smith vehicle, James Burns, age 9 was transported by Barren-Metcalfe EMS to Cumberland County Hospital, Burkesville, KY, for non life threatening injuries. All occupants were belted. Smith and Neal were not injured.

Trooper Stephens was assisted at the scene by Trooper Logan Richardson, Metcalfe Sheriffs Department, Metcalfe Fire and Barren-Metcalfe EMS.
