Adair County Pursuit leads to recovery of drugs and arrest

Two Russell Springs, KY residents lodged in Adair County Jail following pursuit on KY 55, Monday morning, November 21, 2011

COLUMBIA, KY - On Monday, November 21, 2011, at approximately 9:06amCT, Tpr. Dewayne Holder observed a black 1998 Chevy 2-DR traveling south on KY 55. Tpr. Holder identified the driver as a subject with outstanding warrants and initiated a traffic stop.




The vehicle fled onto the Louie B. Nunn Parkway traveling east when Tpr. Holder observed something being thrown out of the car into the emergency lane. A short distance later, the vehicle pulled over.

Tpr. Holder secured the occupant's without further incident and a search of the vehicle led to the discovery of over $10,000.00 in cash and a 9MM handgun. Tpr. Holder also recovered apporximately 4 oz. of suspected cocaine from the eastbound emergency lane of the Parkway.
24-year-old Adrian Morales of Russell Springs, KY, was arrested and charged with Speeding, Possession of a Controlled Substance, Trafficking in a Controlled Substance, Fleeing and Evading, DUI Aggravated, No Operator's License, No Insurance and Carrying a Concealed Deadly Weapon.

24-year-old Heaven Sutton of Russell Springs, KY was arrested and charged with Trafficking in a Controlled Substance, Possession of a Controlled Substance and Carrying a Concealed Deadly Weapon./blockquote>Both were lodged in the Adair County Jail. The investigation is ongoing.
