Denise Grant 1 of 3 finalist for KY Science Teacher of the Year Kentucky Science Teachers Association will announce winner in spring of 2012 Click on headline for story plus photo(s) By Alan W. Reed Science news from the Adair Co. School District The Kentucky Science Teachers Association (KSTA) has chosen seventh grade science teacher Denise Grant as one of three finalists for prestigious state and national award. Ms. Denise Pyles Grant, 7th grade science teacher at Adair County Middle School has a excellent chance at being selected Kentucky Science Teacher of the Year and recipient of the Presidential Award for Excellence in Mathematics and Science Teaching. Grant was honored with a plaque at the KSTA annual conference November 4th, 2011, in Lexington, Kentucky. Grant also learned that she had made Kentuckys top three list for the Presidential Award. Presidential Awards for Excellence in Mathematics and Science Teaching are the Nation's highest honors for teachers of mathematics and science. Awardees serve as models for their colleagues, inspiration to their communities, and leaders in the improvement of mathematics and science education. Superintendent Darrell Treece says, We are extremely proud to have teachers like Denise in our schools. When students enjoy learning they are motivated to come to school and do their best.
