KSP Post 15 Area had 7 fatalities in month of October 2011

Fatalities in 2011 have soared in 11 county area served by Post 15, from 22 in same period in 2010 to 37 this year, while, statewide, the number is down from 646 in 2010 to 597 in current year

CAMPBELLSVILLE, KY - During the month of October, 2011, there were 30 traffic accidents investigated by the State Police working in the Post 15 area in the 11 counties of Adair, Casey, Clinton, Cumberland, Green, Marion, Metcalfe, Monroe, Russell, Taylor and Washington.



There were seven fatalities during the month of October in the Post 15 area:
  • Edelen, Monte; of Lebanon, KY, was killed in Marion Co, KY on October 6, 2011
  • Edelen, Charles; of Lebanon, KY, was killed in Marion Co, KY on October 6, 2011
  • Bault, Gerald; of Campbellsville, KY, was killed in Taylor Co, KY on October 5, 2011
  • Tharp, James; of Loretto, KY, was killed in Marion Co, KY on October 9, 2011
  • Pyles, Peggy; of Campbellsville, KY, was killed in Taylor Co, KY on October 25, 2011
  • Bryant, Latasha; of Columbia, KY, was killed in Adair Co, KY on October 26, 2011
  • Wilson, Richard Jr.; of Campbellsville, KY, was killed in Taylor Co, KY on October 28, 2011
This brings our yearly fatality count to 37 compared with 22 through this same period in 2010.

State wide fatality count stands at 597 compared with 646 through this same period in 2010.

During the month of October 2011, there were 1213 citations written, 486 courtesy notices written, 2241 vehicles inspected, 795 complaints answered, 114 motorists assisted, 71 criminal cases opened and 181 criminal arrests made. -TFC BILLY GREGORY
