Lindsey Wilson freshmen Carl Pettersson, Umea, Sweden, and Phillip Sandgren, Kristinstad, Sweden, each scored a goal and assisted on another to help the No. 2-ranked Blue Raiders win their ninth straight match.

Sandgren notched his team-leading eighth goal of the season off a Mat Luak assist in the 17th minute to give the Blue Raiders the 1-0 lead. Pettersson added a second Lindsey Wilson goal in the 42nd minute off Sandgren's assist for a 2-0 lead.

The goal is the first of Pettersson's career.

The Blue Raiders led the match 2-0 at the break.

While youth was served in the opening half, the Blue Raider veterans grabbed center stage in the second frame.

Lindsey Wilson College men's soccer coach Ray Wells, long a national legend in the game, watched an August 2010 match against St. Xavier (IL) University. The Blue Raiders won the match 1-0, giving Wells - who has been the only men's soccer coach in LWC history - an amazing overall record of 387-63-21. At the time. 2011 is off to an amazing start, with Wells' Blue Raiders unbeaten, and headed to a home game before an increasingly supportive Adair fan base at Columbia's jewel of a soccer venue, Walter S. Reuling Stadium. That game is at 2pmCT, Sunday afternoon, when Lindsey Wilson hosts WVU Tech.
