CU linebacker Dwight Houston named a BSN Defensive Player

By Chris Megginson, CU Sports Information Director

CAMPBELLSVILLE, KY - Dwight Houston's career day at Georgetown College this past Saturday did not go unnoticed, as the Beyond Sports Network has named the Campbellsville University senior linebacker one of its six NAIA Defensive Players of the Week, the BSN staff announced Wednesday, October 12, 2011.

Houston, a native of St. Louis, MO, led all players with 14 total tackles, including seven solo stops and five for a loss. He had a career-high three sacks in the 31-6 loss to No. 6 Georgetown.

Houston now leads the NAIA for sacks with 7.5 this season. He is the 10th Tiger in the program's history to record at least seven sacks in a single season. Demetrius Forney holds the single-season record with 15 sacks, but Houston is only 2.5 sacks away from Gilbert Robbins' second-place total of 10 in 1990. -CHRIS MEGGINSON. Campbellsvilletigers.com
