Adair County's Organ Donation signup is lackadaisical

The Telemetric Observer says Adair County qualifies for nearly 8th place in 7 county area when Organ Donation is compared to population. The question: WHY? In this most giving of counties, is this utlmate practice of the Golden Rule, so low? so un-Christian? So unlike Jesus, who, We Believe, would have been first in line at the clerk's office to sign a donation card. Which only matters to Christians who like Christ's teachings, or course. Is it time for the Adair County Ministerial Association to roll tanks - so to speak? -CM

The Telemetric Observer

Although 125 Adair Countians have signed organ donation cards since early July, Adair's overall participation remains firmly entrenched in the land of lackadaisical.

According the latest numbers from Trust for Life, Adair places a dismal fifth in the seven county area, ranking above only Green (by a mere 19 registrants) and Cumberland County, both of which have significantly lower populations than Adair. The number of registered donors by county (as of October 11, 2011) is shown below:

COUNTY / REGISTERED DONORS
  1. Taylor / 4,880
  2. Russell / 4,786
  3. Metcalfe / 2,205
  4. Casey / 1,913
  5. Adair / 1,813
  6. Green / 1,794
  7. Cumberland / 1,203
When the number of donors is viewed as percentage of each county's population, Adair's dismal showing gets worse--so bad it's very nearly in eighth place in the seven county area:

COUNTY / % REGISTERED DONORS
  1. Russell / 27.2%
  2. Metcalfe / 21.8%
  3. Taylor / 20.0%
  4. Cumberland / 17.5%
  5. Green / 15.7%
  6. Casey / 12.0%%
  7. Adair / 9.7%
