LWC Volleyball Rolls over Shawnee State for 15th straight win

PORTSMOUTH, OHIO - For the 15th straight match the Lindsey Wilson College volleyball team left the court on the winning end.

Tuesday night, October 11, 2011, the Blue Raiders upended host Shawnee State (Ohio) University by scores of 25-17, 25-16, 19-25, 25-16 to improve to 22-1 overall and 6-1 in the Mid-South Conference. Shawnee State falls to 8-15 overall and 3-4 in the conference.



Three Blue Raiders recorded double-digit kills in the match led by freshman Taylor Hayne's 15. Freshman Sarah Anderson added 14 and freshman Kirsten King produced 10 kills.

As a team, the Blue Raiders finished the match with a .311 attacking percentage compared to just .257 from the Bears.

Helping the Blue Raiders' attack was freshman Sierra Wilkerson who finished with a team-best .412 attacking percentage. She finished with eight kills while adding three solo blocks and two assisted blocks in tonight's win.

Shawnee State's Kelsey Bielanow led the Bears with 12 kills in the match.

A trio of Blue Raiders finished the night with double-doubles. Anderson and King added 10 digs to their kills total and junior Andrea Taylor ended with a team-high 46 assists and 12 digs.
