Rear-ending collision results in injuries to two in Russell Co., KY

Crash occurs eight miles east of Jamestown, KY

(Russell County, KY)- Trooper Kenny Perkins is investigating a collision that occurred today on KY 1680 at approximately 3:25pmCT, Monday, August 01, 2011, 8 miles east of Jamestown, KY.



Joe Bennett, 69 year old ,of Jamestown, KY, was operating a 2000 Chevy, westbound on KY 1680.

Alonzo Wathen Jr, age 45 of Louisville, KY, was also westbound on KY 1680, operating a 1991 Toyota

Wathen was stopped in the roadway and was struck in the rear by Bennett's vehicle. Bennett had one passenger, Brenda K. Bennett, age 53 of Jamestown, KY.

All parties involved were belted. Brenda Bennett and Alonzo Wathen were treated and released at the Russell County Hospital.
