ACHS senior Kyle Mann attends Osteopathic Medicine PEPP Summer program was at Pikeville College School of Osteopathic Medicine Professional Education Preparation Program (PEPP) held for two weeks this summer Click on headline for story plus photo(s) News from Adair County School District Kyle Mann participated in the Pikeville College School of Osteopathic Medicine Professional Education Preparation Program (PEPP) held June 4-17, 2011. Kyle Mann an upcoming senior at Adair County High recently participated in the Pikeville College School of Osteopathic Medicine Professional Education Preparation Program. Kyle, along with 37 other students from across Kentucky, spent two intensive weeks on Pikeville's campus learning anatomy, histology, physiology, biochemistry, pathology, and pharmacology. Pikeville Medical School staff and students provided a variety of learning experiences including presentations, laboratory and clinical observations at the Pikeville Medical Center.. The PEPP Program was established by the 1980 Kentucky General Assembly for the purpose of increasing the number and proportion of medical students particularly from medically underserved areas of the commonwealth (including Adair County). This experience offers students the chance to expand their knowledge and interest in the medical field, understand the elements of a medical education and the practice of medicine in a rural setting..
