SCC Cosmetology Students compete in Nationals Janeen Earwood of Clinton wins a 4th place in Nail Technology Click on headline for story plus photo(s) By Cindy Clouse News from Somerset Community College Somerset Community College Cosmetology students recently competed in the Skills USA National Competition held in Kansas City, MO. Janeen Earwood of Clinton County placed 4th at the national competition in Nail Technology. Earwood graduated from the Clinton Center Cosmetology program in May 2011 and now owns Bella Salon and Spa in Albany. Alicia Heath Stigall of Wayne County placed 12th at the national competition in Esthetics. Stigall is a student in the Somerset Campus Cosmetology program. Stigall was the first cosmetology student from the Somerset Campus to be eligible to compete at the national competition. In order to reach the Skills USA National Competition, the students had to finish first at the Kentucky Skills USA competition which was held in April 2011. There are still vacancies in the Cosmetology program at the SCC Clinton Center. To enroll in the program or for more information, contact Joni Upchurch at (606) 387-3791 or joni.upchurch@kctcs.edu.
