Megan K. Mercer is valedictorian of 2011 Ballard High Class Click on headline for full story plus photo(s) By E.H. Lepiarczyk Megan Katherine Mercer graduated as valedictorian of her class during Ballard High School commencement exercises at Freedom Hall in Louisville, KY, on Thursday, June 2, 2011. As vice-president of her 2011 graduating class, Megan was seated with the dignitaries on the podium of her graduating class. She was also a speaker during the commencement exercises. Megan Mercer is the niece of Erwin Lepiarczyk, of Churchill Place, Columbia, KY. She is the daughter of Karen Mercer and the late Dr. Richard Mercer; the granddaughter of Gerhard and Katherine Lepiarczyk; and the great-granddaughter of the late Daniel and Effie Grider. Attending commencement exercises were Megan's family members: Karen Mercer, Gerhard Lepiarczyk, Erwin Lepiarczyk, David Lepiarczyk, Stella Cross, and Bailey Stone. A recipient of numerous academic scholarships, Megan Mercer plans to attend the University of Louisville where she has been offered prestigious admission to medical school. Erwin Lepiarczyk, Karen Mercer, and David Lepiarczyk are all alumni of the University of Louisville. May God bless all members of Megan Mercer's family always. E.H.
