By Dan White
News from Lindsey Wilson Sports Information

GEORGETOWN, KY - Lindsey Wilson College sports information director Chris Wells has been selected by his peers as the 2010-11 Mid-South Conference Sports Information Director of the Year.

The honor is the fifth for Wells since becoming the sports information director at Lindsey Wilson during the 2001-02 academic year.

"I'm humbled and honored to receive an award that is voted on by the outstanding sports information directors of the MSC," Wells said. "While being a sports information director is often time-consuming, every SID has a passion for athletics and student-athletes. I feel very fortunate to represent Lindsey Wilson College in a job I truly love."

Wells received the honor from MSC commissioner Steve Baker at the conference's annual summer meeting at the Thomas & King Leadership & Conference Center at the Georgetown College Athletic Complex on Wednesday, June 1, 2011.

"I take great pride in this award because it is an award for everyone at Lindsey Wilson who works very hard to promote Blue Raider athletics," Wells said. "I'm incredibly fortunate to lead a department that includes one of the best sports information individuals in our field in my assistant Dan White.

"He is an integral part of this department and his drive and passion for every student-athlete and athletic team has been instrumental in the advancement of Lindsey Wilson sports information."

Wells was also selected as the conference's sports information director of the year during the 2002-03, 2006-07, 2008-09 and 2009-10 academic years.

The Lindsey Wilson sports information department is in charge of the athletics website lindseyathletics.com. In addition to the website, the sports information department handles all of the athletic department press releases, statistics and administration of all of the athletic department's social media.

In addition to his sports information duties, Wells serves as the department's assistant athletic director and the voice of Blue Raider athletics. He also serves as the MSC sports information director.

"Our successes within sports information is a direct reflection of the support we receive from athletic director Willis Pooler, vice president Dean Adams, Lindsey Wilson President Bill Luckey and all the administration that supports our efforts to promote Lindsey Wilson athletics," Wells said. "For their support we are eternally grateful."
