LWC Womens Golf makes 7th straight National playoff 2011 MSC Champions get automatic bid News from Lindsey Wilson Athletics COLUMBIA, KY - The Lindsey Wilson College women's golf team earned the Mid-South Conference's automatic bid into the NAIA National Championships today, Thursday, May 5, 2011, nine days after the Blue Raiders captured the MSC Tournament title. After winning the conference tournament last week at Bardstown Country Club at Maywood, 130 Maywood AV, Bardstown, KY, the Blue Raiders had to wait for the final national poll to be released before making their travel plans to Greeneville, TN. The Mid-South Conference Tournament dropped to a five-team tournament, one team below the necessary six-team field to earn an automatic bid, after a team withdrew prior to the start of the tournament. But since the MSC had six teams throughout the regular season, the conference was given its automatic bid back after the tournament winner appeared in the final national ranking. Lindsey Wilson finished No. 15 in the final poll and makes its seventh straight appearance in the national tournament. The Blue Raiders are one of 25 teams to punch their ticket to the national tournament either as an automatic qualifier or an at-large bid. The 129-woman field includes four individual winners of their conference tournament not on a winning team. The team tees off on May 17, 2011, at Link Hills Country Club, 1325 East Allens Bridge RD,Greeneville, TN. The final round of the four day tournament is scheduled for May 20, 2011. Lindsey Wilson finished sixth at last season's national tournament in Rapid City, SD. This season, the Blue Raiders have won five times, including their last two tournaments.
