LW Softball after trip to Nationals at MSC Tournament By Dan White News from Lindsey Wilson Athletics COLUMBIA, KY - With its second straight Mid-South Conference Regular-Season Championship already in the record books, the 13th ranked Lindsey Wilson College softball team has its sights set on back-to-back MSC Tournament titles as it opens play in the double-elimination event at 12:30pmCT, Friday, April 29, 2011, against University of the Cumberlands, Williamsburg, KY, at Millennium Park, 1000 Cunningham Way, Danville, KY. The conference tournament lasts through Sunday, May 1, 2011, in Danville with the championship game set for 10am with a possible if necessary game at Noon. With its sweep of Cumberlands on April 21, the Blue Raiders claimed the MSC Regular-Season Championship after finishing the season with a 20-2 record in conference games. The last four games of the season leading up to the tournament were rained out, but Lindsey Wilson still rose in the latest NAIA Coaches' Top-25 Poll to No. 13 after spending the last two weeks ranked 14th. At this time last season, Lindsey Wilson rose to new heights in softball, winning its first MSC Tournament championship to earn an automatic bid to the NAIA National Championship in Decatur, AL.This season the goal is the same but the destination has changed as the winner of the conference tournament earns a trip to the NAIA Championship on May 19-25, 2011, in Gulf Shores, AL.
