She was joined as an All-Conference singles player by her doubles partner Anita Henestrosa, the 2010 MSC Freshman of the Year. "They're solid players. They go out and work hard every day and go get it," Caven said. "It's good to get the Freshman of the Year award two years in a row." Murtagh, a native of Dublin, Ireland, played most of the year at No. 1 singles, posting a 9-3 record. She was 4-0 at No. 2 singles. Henestrosa, who played most of the season at No. 2 singles with an 11-1 record and was 3-1 at No. 1 singles. Together, the duo was 13-3 at No. 1 doubles. Salazar and Edwards each posted 10-5 records in singles action, while Hamrick was 13-4. Salazar and Edwards were both also named honorable mention doubles selections, as they posted a 10-5 record at No. 2 doubles. "Gleidys, Aspen and Kristen are a huge part of our lineup. We've won a lot of matches this season because of the middle of our lineup," Caven said. The MSC Player of the Year honor went to Lindsey Wilson College's No. 1 singles player, Trina Slapeka, who received the honor for the third consecutive year. Slapeka finished the regular season with a 13-2 singles record, including a 5-0 conference mark.
