Veterans Day 2009 album and links

No place in the land tries harder to show appreciation for its veterans than Adair Co., KY. From an 11 year tradition at its Walmart store, to its community leaders, churches, schools, and governmental units, to the new tradition being forged by Lindsey Wilson College honoring all of South Central Kentucky's men and women who have proudly served in the military, Columbia, KY, has been a focal point this past week in remembrance.

This album brings together many of the links and photos from the past week. On Sunday morning, November 15, 2009, photos are still being added.

Dr. Ted Taylor: Brave Hearts

2009-11-14 - Columbia Walmart - Photo by Ed Waggener. In a week filled with moments, one of the most memorable was the Veterans Day address by Dr. Ted Taylor, delivered outside on a chilly November 11, 2009. Dr. Taylor chose as his theme "Bravehearts," recalling the Biblical origins of the word as well as the popularization of the term in the movies about William Wallace of Scotland, interwoven with stories of his father, who flew on B-27 missions in World War II. A mesmerizing speaker, the pastor of the Columbia Baptist Church held the audience spellbound, with the only sound heard, besides his, were from the occasional burst of wind and passing trucks on the LBN. Dr. Taylor will be the main speaker at Campbellsville University's Thanksgiving service on Wednesday, November 18, 2009 at 9amCT/10amET, at Ransdell Chapel, 401 N. Hoskins AV, Campbellsville, KY.
