Obituary: Robert Dewayne (Robbie) Rodgers, 37, Elkhorn, KY

Mr. Rodgers was member of Jones Chapel Methodist Church. He was an auto repairman and a mechanic.

Robert Dewayne "Robbie" Rodgers, 37, Elkhorn, KY, died Wednesday, July 29, 2009, at Casey County Hospital in Liberty, KY.

The funeral service will be Sunday, August 2, 2009, at 2:00pmET at South Fork Baptist Church, South Fork Ridge Road, Casey Co., KY, with Bro. Larry Loy and Bro. Troy Coffey officiating. Visitation will be Saturday, August 1, 2009, from 5:00pm-9:00pmET, at McKinney-Brown Funeral Home, 752 Campbellsville ST, Liberty, KY and after 10:00amET at the Church. Burial will be in South Fork Cemetery.



He was born December 6, 1971, in Marion Co., KY, the son of Donald Rodgers, Liberty, KY, and the late Drucilla Henson Rodgers.Mr. Rodgers was an auto repair man and mechanic. He was a member of Jones Chapel Methodist Church (Taylor Co., KY).Besides his fther, he is survived by the following:
  • Daughter: Shelby Lynn Rodgers, at home

  • Mother of Shelby: Melissa Rodgers, Russell Springs, KY

  • Brother: Johnathan and (Amy) Rogers, Somerset, KY

  • Niece: Mason Rodgers

  • Grandfather: Vitus Rodgers, Liberty, KY

  • Special friends: Sheila and Ashley Gregory, Science Hill

  • And several aunts, uncles and cousins
He was preceded in death by his mother, Drucilla Henson Rodgers; his paternal grandmother, Nettie Rodgers; and maternal grandparents, Robert and Irene Henson.

Pallbearers: Ronald "Pooch" Rodgers, Mike Fair, Stevie henson, Dennis Bryant, Alan Clark, and Ronnie Davis.

Honorary pallbearers: Jeff Martin, Steve Gabehart, Dustin Gabehart, and Jessie Whitlock.
