Edwards-Obanion VFW named for George Edwards About: Autograph party CU July 4 2009 for book on Taylor Co soldiers To ColumbiaMagazine.com I wish I had known about this book before publication. My great uncle. George Edwards. died in WWI in France and his name is on the monument. Also, the Edwards-O'Banyon VFW is named after him. His nieces in Columbia, Emily Sargent and Mary Frances May could've given information to include in the book. s/Arthur Sargent Thanks. Perhaps the Mass Communications Department, or some other Taylor County group, will compile a book on soldiers of World War I. This particular Book is limited to stories of soldiers from World War II.
