Edwards-Obanion VFW named for George Edwards

About: Autograph party CU July 4 2009 for book on Taylor Co soldiers

To ColumbiaMagazine.com

I wish I had known about this book before publication. My great uncle. George Edwards. died in WWI in France and his name is on the monument. Also, the Edwards-O'Banyon VFW is named after him.

His nieces in Columbia, Emily Sargent and Mary Frances May could've given information to include in the book.

s/Arthur Sargent

Thanks. Perhaps the Mass Communications Department, or some other Taylor County group, will compile a book on soldiers of World War I. This particular Book is limited to stories of soldiers from World War II. Also, we'd love to have the story of George Edwards to post of CM, and will contact The Sisters to see if a story can be arranged. -EW
