Lindsey Wilson Women's Tennis advances to NAIA's second round LWC next faces California Baptist at 1:00pmCT today By Chris Wells, LWC Sports Information Director MOBILE, AL - The Lindsey Wilson College women's tennis team advanced to the NAIA National Championships' second round with an 8-1 win over Missouri Valley College in today's opening round at the Mobile Tennis Center. The Blue Raiders advance to play No. 6-seeded California Baptist University -- who earned one of the tournament's eight first round byes -- at 1:00pmCT on Wednesday. Lindsey Wilson (11-4) dominated from the beginning taking a 3-0 lead after the doubles session. Lindsey Wilson junior Jessica Weyreuter and freshman Vanja Tomic defeated Missouri Valley's Elanqua Griffin and Nicki Erickson at No. 1 doubles and freshman Trina Slapeka and sophomore Darya Yablonskaya beat Tershelle Burrows and Juliana Doyle by identical 8-1 scores. LWC junior Agnieszka Wojtowicz and junior Lindsey Sheene closed out doubles with an 8-6 win over Davina Holtfreter and Lindsay Tworek to take the 3-0 lead into singles action. Doubles:
