Annual Arts and Crafts Festival at Giles House Sat., Oct. 4, 2008

Crafts people, artists, book sellers, and musicians will gather at Giles House on Spout Springs, Knifley, KY on Saturday, October 4, 2008 to provide buying opportunities and fun for all who attend this annual event.

Prints of Pansy Phillips paintings as well as collections of Kentucky books and many art and craft items will be for sale. Pansy Phillips was a good friend of Janice Giles and illustrated Janice Giles' books.



Don Parrish of Bardstown Booksellers will be available to appraise books and small antiques for $5 per item. Mr. Parrish donates the proceeds from appraisals to The Giles Society.

Demonstrations of basket weaving and stone sculpture will take place.

Musical performances, which begin at 10:30amCT, will feature The Rich Family, Royal Heirs Gospel Singers, students from Taylor County Show Choir, Living Waters Bluegrass group, and Adair County High School Chorus.

The Giles Society will sell food items and 2008 Giles Christmas ornaments. The Festival, cosponsored by The Giles Society, Bank of Columbia, and First Farmers and National Bank, begins at 9:00amCT/10amET and ends at 4:00pmCT/5:00pmET. A drawing for a Penn's Ham, a Penn's gift box, and a Margaret Dunn basket will be at 3:00pmCT/4:00pmET. In case of rain the Festival will be at Knifley School.

The Giles Society is a nonprofit organization dedicated to the preservation of the Giles legacy and to the enrichment of all lives through informal educational opportunities.
