Sharon Gabbert, 77, Taylor County, KY

Sharon Gabbert of Campbellsville, daughter of the late Roscoe Shofner and Audrey Marie Thompson Shofner was born May 25, 1949 in Taylor County, Kentucky. She died Wednesday, July 1, 2026 in Louisville at age 77.

She had made a profession of faith in Christ and was a member of Southside Christian Church.

Sharon was a retired employee of Fruit of the Loom and worked as a Custodian for the Taylor County School System. Sharon was a faithful member of Southside Christian Church. She loved puzzles and spending time with her family as much as she could, especially her grandchildren whom she loved dearly.


Sharon united in marriage to Terry Gabbert February 25, 1972 and he preceded her in death March 4, 2006.

She is survived by two sons and one daughter: Jason Gabbert and wife, Lora of Shepherdsville, Josh Gabbert and wife, Rebekah of Campbellsville, and Treva Phillips and husband, Bobby of Columbia; nine grandchildren: Cody Gabbert and wife, Lori of Columbia, Amber Phillips and fiance, Barry Tungate, of Knifley, Audrey Gabbert, Lydia Gabbert, and Isabelle Gabbert of Shepherdsville, and Emma Gabbert, Jaxson Gabbert, Elisa Gabbert, and Sadie Gabbert of Campbellsville; three great-grandchildren: Harper Gabbert and Aslynn Gabbert of Columbia, and Tegan Tungate of Knifley; two sisters: Diane Walters of Campbellsville, and Linda Sumrall and husband, Eddie of Big Level, Mississippi; her sister-in-law, Ann Shofner of Pasadena, Texas; several nieces and nephews and many other relatives and friends.

Sharon was also preceded in death by one sister and five brothers: Brenda Sumrall, Kenny Shofner, Larry Shofner, Jerry Shofner, W.R. Shofner, and Garnett Shofner.
