Emergency preparedness program is June 18

From Dylan Gentry

The Adair County Extension Office will host Disasters Don't Stand a Chance, a fun and interactive emergency preparedness program for individuals and families, at 11amCT on Thursday, June 18, 2026, at the Adair County Extension Office, 409 Fairground Street, Columbia, KY.

Participants will take part in an engaging board game set in "Calamity County," where unexpected disasters, detours, and challenges help players learn how to prepare for real-life emergencies. As they move through the game, participants will collect essential supplies for an emergency kit and discuss practical steps they can take to help their families be more prepared.

This program is designed to make disaster preparedness approachable, educational, and enjoyable for all participants. Lunch will be provided at no cost.

To register, call the Adair County Extension Office at 270-384-2317 by June 12, 2026.
