Stacey Hatcher Bishop is Volunteer of the Year By Ellen Zornes, Columbia Adair Chamber Executive Director Whether you have bought a banana pudding at a fundraiser... or your family has been in need... called in a tip to Cally's line or law enforcement receiving a tip from Cally's Line... or a church or organization trying to raise funds... or you just needed a friend to talk to... then you know the generosity of Stacey Hatcher Bishop. This year's volunteer of the year is awarded to a person that is a true example of quiet generosity and selfless service. Not only is she a dedicated business owner, but she consistently gives back to those in need with little to no fanfare, never seeking recognition for the good she does. In honor or her daughter, she provides Cally's Line, an anonymous tip line for local law enforcement, completely free to the community, creating a lasting impact that helps keep others safe. Her sister, Julie, shared that Stacey began helping people when she was diagnosed with cancer. She decided there was no possible way she could repay each person that helped her so she paid it forward to as many people as she could. Then, when, her daughter, Cally, passed away, she decided she was going to find more ways to save and help our children and future generations whether it was through food pantries, shelters, drug K9s, parks, anything she could do. The community has shown her such immense support that the only way to say thank you is to pay it forward with hopes others will do the same with what God calls them to do. Mayor Pam Hoots says of Stacey, "She is a phenomenal person that gives to people every day in many ways. She cares for everyone and our community. She does so many unknown acts of kindness and I am loving being considered one of her sisters." Julie also stated, "Stacy's compassion, humility and unwavering commitment to helping others make her incredibly deserving of this recognition. Stacey is married to Craig Bishop and has a very special grandson, Briggs. This story was posted on 2026-05-27 22:33:51
