Douglas S. Gorton, 85, Columbia, KY (1940-2026) Douglas Sanford Gorton of Columbia died on Wednesday, May 20, 2026 at his residence. He was 85 years old. Douglas' wishes were to be cremated. There will be no services held. He was born December 24, 1940 in Elk Point, New York to the late Vernon and Marjorie Benton Gorton. He was a member of the Valley Oak Baptist Church where he served as deacon. He had the honor to serve his country in the United States Army and worked for the United States Postal Service until his retirement. Survivors include:
