Alvert Chandler Bennett, 90, Columbia, KY (1935-2026) Alvert Chandler Bennett of Columbia passed away on Friday, May 15, 2026, at his residence. He was 90 years old. Funeral services will be held at 11amCT on Tuesday, May 19, 2026, at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home, 210 Greensburg St., Columbia, KY. Burial will follow in the Loy Cemetery. Visitation will be after 9amCT on Tuesday at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home. He was born on November 22, 1935, in Adair County, KY to the late Willie "W.L." and Iva Lee Grant Bennett. He was also preceded in death by a sister Bernice Rey Rupe and a niece Dorothy Stephens. Chandler formerly attended the Tabor Community Church and enjoyed farming, logging and riding around. Survivors include a nephew by marriage Bobby Stephens, three great nephews Jacob Stephens, Lucas Stephens and Andrew Rupe and a great great niece Claire Stephens.
